Inspiring Transformation to Your Heart’s Destination

The Clean Plate

Shove it all off. That’s what I wanted to do.

Honestly, there were so many things on my life plate that I did not want to take one more bite. Many of the items on my plate I intentionally put there. Some things, I allowed other people to put on it. And a couple, just needed to be there for a season. Nonetheless, I just wanted to shove everything off it and take a long nap. But I couldn’t.

And then, one day when I was feeling overly exhausted, I was journaling and having conversations with the Lord. He inspired me to create the Clean Plate process.

It’s a messy plate!

Life’s good, bad, sad, happy, and sometimes painful moments fill our plates. We may not realize how much space and energy those things hold us captive within our emotional, physical, and spiritual bodies.

Our work, our play, our people, our worries, even our prayer concerns can deplete our time, joy, and rest.

We get to choose what we put on our life plate, and how much space it takes up.

When life circumstances chose our plate to land, and we didn’t ask for that serving, or it’s just something we “need” to do for a season, we still get to choose how our emotional, physical, relational, and spiritual energy will digest this serving, even if we don’t yet know how.

What’s on this plate and why do I feel like I do?

We assess, discover, and determine which items on our plate bring peace, life, love and/or wonder. Which items do we feel frustration, anger and/or deplete our energy zest and zeal for life? Which items do we feel neutral, numb and/or exhausted, yet, would still find enjoyable, if we weren’t energetically depleted.

Our plate still isn’t clean, but at least we know what is on our heavy and sometimes messy plate.

Grab that fork!

Grabbing that fork and separating items by categories helps us determine root natures of these items and feelings. This helps define the items so that we can better understand why and how our plate got so full!

Simplify my plate.

Once we simplify by categories, we map them in one of our focus four groups (Career/ Business/ Financial, Relationship, Health, and Wellness, and Spiritual).

Passions for my soul

As we discover our personal Core Passion codes, we learn that the codes have gifts and challenges. Understanding this allows us to not only see where we are, it also allows us to see and choose the direction we want to go.

We are now better able to intentionally set our table, to invite our guests, to serve and eat all of life we want. We get to start with a clean plate and decide what gets placed on that plate, and there may be things that just have to stay, for now. Oh, our plate may not be empty, but it is clean.

Now, we have the discernment, the confidence, the assertiveness, the energy, and the love to live in harmony with the seasons of life.
